Mad Men is most definitely the new Sopranos. What I don’t understand is what happened to all those old Sopranos viewers? With the attention Mad Men gets you would think it’s ratings would hve improved more than they have.
I really hope this isn’t the year of CBS, just give them their Reality Show Award and then let them go home.
Bryan Cranston didn’t win for Breaking Bad, you’re completely right to assume that it was a delayed award for Malcolm in the Middle. I doubt Breaking Bad is going to make any big splashes.
The Battlestar Galactica situation is making me depressed. TV-Squad, Zap2it and even EWs Popwatch are all rooting for BSG too, but it’s almost guaranteed that we’ll all be disappointed.
True Blood is a money maker for HBO, I think they’re less obsessed with sweeping the Emmys and the Golden Globes than they used to be. I wouldn’t know anything about this, but it seems like they spend a lot of money promoting this show to the masses, I doubt they’re willing to also pay for a huge award campaign too.
I love the Guest Star awards, that’s where you get the best speeches, and the funnest stars. I hope some of the 30 Rock people win, it seems almost guaranteed.
I think BSG stands the greatest chance of winning a writing nod. I’m still holding out hope for that.
