I was very impressed with you when Kristin Chenoweth and Toni Collette won. I didn't see that coming at all (especially Toni), so good on ya.
I thought John Hodgeman did a very good job. I always find hte lady with the resumes to be quite dull. I don't care how many nominations everyone has received. His little commentary was great (except that he had some bad timing).
The dircetors advice stuff was pretty odd. There were a few zingers, but most of it was awkward. The writers did good, but that's their job.
And Neil Patrick Harris did good. I thought the bad TV credits were funny. That's the nature of TV acting, getting terrible roles and working up... slowly.
I think Jimmy Fallon and Ricky Gervais really set themselves up to be awards hosts. I wouldn't be surprised to see that next year. I don't know who's getting the Emmys next year (NBC hasn't had them in a while) but if it is NBC I would predict that Jimmy Fallon would host them.
The montages were a little iffy. There were a lot of CBS shows on there, very few of which were nominated. It could be that I was very sensitive because it was quite painful to watch all the CBS promos too. I'm only exposed to that once a week through Survivor so, at times, I forget how much I hate the network and it's shows.
