One note though: “it wasn’t him who was balling his eyes out”

You might want to replace that with the more commonly known “bawling” – especially since “balling his eyes out” has a slightly different and more Barney and/or 70s slang connotation. :)

I’m surprised all the critics don’t like it. I enjoyed how the episode featured the continuance of “Torturing Barney” by knowing the slap would come, but not by WHO exactly, I loved the ending commercial big time. I’m not a fan of Chris Elliot at all, but he didn’t make me want to punch him here.

They have kind of been all over the map with Lily lately though. Kinda reminiscent of Willow going evil, I guess…

I thought this one of the best How I Met Your Mother episodes. I felt for Lily’s storyline, I even felt for Mr. Park who died. The episode was VERY funny, and although NPH didn’t do much, the episode was still brilliant (Ted didn’t do much in the last episode but that one was praised). I nearly fell for Ted’s “I’m still in love with you”, and it reminds me how much I miss the Ted&Robin storyline…
