The "know[ing] that something is wrong when they don’t immediately brag about their grandsons upon their departure" wasn't uniquely Wilson... didn't he call that a "House" moment?

Great review. I'm so glad I stopped writing about the show before its decline, but this one was both a departure and had the element that made me want to discuss the show in the first place: the philosophical underpinnings of House's world-view. (Wow, that came out more pretentious than I meant.)

I miss House-centric House episodes, though. All stories used to be linked to him, and for me part of the decline is that the show has become more of an ensemble without succeeding in making most of the secondary characters very interesting. (I rarely thought even the original team were interesting on their own, but it rarely mattered much because their stories illuminated something about House or his philosophy.)
