7:29pm: We’re starting early according to my computer, but not according to my watch. Ben arrives on stage wearing his usual attire, and it appears the girls are up first. Please note: Ben’s shirt is unbuttoned, and it seems like he has a sunburn as opposed to a tan under there. It does not look pretty. Not that he ever does.
7:30pm: We’re saying hello to the judges, who were harsh this week. It was really all their fault, so they can’t complain too much. And now we recap: The Guys and The Girls.
7:32pm: The guys? Not any better in retrospect. And the girls almost seem worse in short clips (Ludicrously short), believe it or not. I forgot to mention last night: Montana’s “Tanks” was annoying at first, but it didn’t even up being as off as expected.
7:33pm: And the girls are up. Martha Joy: Safe. Montana: Safe. Scarlett: Bottom Four?! Shocking! [/sarcasm]
7 :35pm: Naomi Joy: Also finds herself in the bottom four. Khalila? While fading in and out of the lights (Are they on a dimmer switch?), she fades off into the Bottom Four. Annika, Mila, Carly Rae and Tara, meanwhile, are made to sweat it out before Mila becomes the final member of the Bottom Four.
7:37pm: That should show the judges – If you’re going to crush someone like Annika, don’t do it so much that she gets the sympathy vote. That basically sent Khalila and Mila into the Bottom Four, you should have just shut up or said nothing.
7:40pm: Okay, have to point this out – Minorities are not having a good night on the ladies’ side, eh? Meanwhile, onto the guys. Tyler? Unsurprisingly entirely safe. Duh.
7:41pm: Clifton: Spends his 2nd week in the Bottom Four while Tyler awkwardly massages his shoulder. Which was awesome. Matt, Liam and Jaydee are lumped together, and Ben tries to give Jaydee a heart attack…and yeah, they’re all safe. Which means that Dwight/Andrew/Brian/Greg are all in danger. Major danger.
7:43pm: This is a conundrum. Dwight and Andrew, of course, are both in tonight’s bottom Four immediately (Like really quickly). Meanwhile, Greg is quickly announced as safe while Brian moves into the Bottom Four for being…um, I’m not sure.
7:47pm: The girls on one side, the guys on the others. Jake’s prediction: Cliffton and Dwight going home on the guys, and Farley agrees. Sass on the Girls: Scarlett and Naomi Joy, indirectly, and Zack again agrees.
7:48pm: Dwight is officially safe, which is entirely Nova Scotia’s fault. Thanks a lot, PROVINCE.
7:49pm: On the girls’ side…Khalila, perhaps the best of the four, is sent home first quite nicely. We take another commercial break, seriously two minutes after the last one. Ridiculous.
7:51pm: The Guys first…and Brian is safe. Yes! Clifton and Andrew, meanwhile head home just as they probably could have done last week as well.
7:52pm: The Girls…Scarlett and Naomi-Joy, predictably, head home. Looks like Nova Scotia was only interested in saving one performer, eh?
7:53pm: Naomi-Joy thinks that Canada didn’t find her songs recognizable (No, we didn’t find them good). Scarlett would have done nothing differently, and doesn’t regret anything. Clifton thanks everyone for voting, and apologizes for not bringing his A-Game. He does a lot of acting. Annoying acting. Andrew basically says “I am better than this show, bye folks!”
7:54pm: Ben cuts off Andrew and lets Zack talk about these performers. And he rambles a lot about standing for something, as per usual, and feels that they knocked one out of the park…except that the person they tore apart most (Annika) is still sitting on the couches. So they have yet to entirely cull the herd. It is still a bloody mess at this stage. Farley lets us know what makes a good song choice…and it’s pure common sense. Sass says the same thing.
7:56pm: Looking back on the journeys of four individuals…Clifton says it was a dream come true,, which it wasn’t at all. He even screwed up the American/Canadian Idol thing during auditions. This was just a stepping stone. Le sigh.
7:57pm: Well, that’s it. I don’t think there’s a solid Top 10 in here…and I don’t see how there could be. Still, only Andrew was a real loss tonight, and even that is arguable. Decent job, Canada.
